TRY WINTER SPORTS is a youth awareness campaign dedicated to promoting the health benefits of winter sports.

The aim is to provide access to winter resorts for youth from families with low income and limited possibilities to get to the point of destination. A shuttle bus will be organized for a group of students to help them participate in all discounted winter activities (on dedicated days of the week- night skiing, snowboarding & tubing). TRY WINTER SPORTS benefits youth in the following ways:

  • Provides access to active winter sports for a low cost.
  • Gives an opportunity to try various kinds of winter activities at low cost.
  • Promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.

Orientation Sessions for New Immigrants

This program is developed for newcomers to help them adapt to Canadian society and become Canadian citizens. By providing a set of information sessions we help new immigrants reduce physiological shock during the first months in Canada which are full of changes and unknown situations.

Project benefits:

  • Increase awareness of the health benefits of physical activity to new immigrants and refugees in Toronto / GTA.
  • Provide information and adaptation services during the most stressful first month of settlement in Canada by uniting newcomers together to allow them to organize their mini-communities and avoid unnecessary stress.
  • Assist in overcoming barriers for newcomers by empowering them with job search strategies designed to make potential employers take notice of immigrants’ key strengths and achievements.

Live Green Style: Environmental Literacy Workshops

Public informal educational workshops on issues including waste reduction, composting, green energy solutions; green grants, rebates, incentives, and non-toxic home renovation alternatives. In the program: distribution of promotion materials, visual presentations, and craft projects from recycled materials for kids. The main focus of LIVE GREEN STYLE: ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY WORKSHOPS will be held on simple, but efficient tips on everyday green living, e.g. conserving energy at home, in the office, etc. with the following anticipated benefits:

  • Raising awareness about environmental issues.
  • Promoting a greener and healthier style of living.
  • Explaining the benefits of implementing green practices in everyday life for the environment as well as for individuals using simple language.
  • Demonstrating that making a difference using greener habits is easy.
  • Motivating to make a small step toward Eco-aware life.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM for youth “Positive Choices” provides students with a step-by-step framework for boosting self-image, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, achieving goals, improving communication and relationships with parents, and much more.

Leadership Program “Positive Choices” can help youth with:

  • Building character prepares young people for the challenges of life as adults.
  • Developing a personal plan of how to implement positive habits in their lives.
  • Improving relationships with family and friends.
  • Increasing self-confidence and self-esteem.
  • Making smarter decisions.
  • Defining their values and what matters most to them.
  • Recognizing and prioritizing their goals.
  • Finding a balance between school, work, friends, and everything else.
